The V-form of the Gibson 50 Year Commemorative Flying V might as well represent Victory for the manufacturer. Gibson’s Guitar of the Month choice for March is appropriate considering that the Flying V guitars is celebrating its half-century of existence. The first Flying V’s from the Kalamazoo, Michigan facility of Gibson were released in 1958.
The Commemorative Flying V still boasts of some of the timeless elements that characterize the 1958 model. To honor the Flying V’s 50 years of existence, it comes fully decked in gold hardware and Brimstone Burst finish. It has a solid mahogany body, ebony fingerboard, beveled edges, Steinberger Gearless Tuners plus the rare Gibson logo found among the old drawing collection of Ted McCarty, the legendary Gibson president.
The Commemorative Flying V is a limited edition model and comes with Gibson’s custom guitar of the month case.
