Impressive with the sound quality and styling. The cobalt blue colour also means that you have that extra “wow” factor on stage. It just looks so nice! Its a limited 20th anniversary addition, with only a few made. The chances are that it could become a collectors item in the near future. The live sound doesn’t vary that much on stage, with a constant performance wherever I have gigged. I have not needed to tune the heads very much before I play, which indicates that they may wear down quickly, but the protones can hold their shape. A quality all round kit ideal for an investor or someone who wants to take the next step up.
This kit is great because the colour scheme is fantastic,the snare is pretty good for live performances,the kick has a sharp and punchy sound which helps for metal and rock drumming,if you get this kit,you need a double pedal.The protone heads wear out quickly,but they last for a good 4 months, the snare needs dampening for recording.The snare has a slight over tone that is hard to cover although I have introduced an external snare dampener which has reduced some of it.
Over all a very nice kit that will suit any working drummer on the club scene, however if you use it for recording, your sound engineer will ask you to use a different snare due to the over tones or request that you dampen it until there is no life left in it.
